Well... my Rent watching has finally REALLY gotten to me. I love Mark so much. He's basically a Jewish, blonde, male version of me. *Btw... am I the only one who noticed that although there are numerous references to him being Jewish, he wishes Roger a Merry Christmas, and his parents phone him on Christmas morning instead of the last day of Hanukkah which is the week before...*
*How do you generate heat when you can't feel your feet?...* I'll show you Mark... *raises eyebrow*
Anyways... My scanner butchered the shading as per usual... I had no ref for this, but I was watching the movie at the time and originally I wanted to do a pose from when he's belting out La Vie Boheme. XP *I love it when he shrugs after saying "Mucho masturbation"... it's like he's telling Benny something like, "common man... you know you do it..."*
I want to glomp him and never let go. From his early eyebrow raising in The Tango Moreen, to his vulgarity in La Vie Boheme, I can't help but adore Mark with all my soul. I love that his eyebrows and eyelashes are transparent. I would do just about anything for a man with see-through eyelashes and brows. (I know I'm a bit of a freak, but it's the cutest thing in the WORLD to me to see a guy with straw lashes...) It breaks my heart that he doesn't end up with anyone. I've come to conclusion that this is because there will be a sequel where Roger moves in with Mimi and Mark decides he needs a room mate... which is about when I will show up... His soliloquy in the deleted scene "Halloween" freaking makes me bawl each time I watch it.
How did we get here? How the hell?
Pan left
Close on the steeple of the church
How did I get here? How the hell?
Christmas!
Christmas eve last year...
How could a night so frozen be so scalding hot?
How could a morning this mild be so raw?
Why are entire years strewn on the cutting room floor of memory?
When single frames of one magic night forever flicker in close up on the 3d Imax of my mind
That's poetic!
That's pathetic...
Why did Mimi knock on Roger's door
And Collins choose that phone booth
Back where Angel set up his drums
Why did Moreen's equipment break down?
Why am I the witness?
And when I capture it on film
Will it mean that it's the end
And I'm alone?
OMG I love RENT!!! I wish i could buy the 2 disc special soundtrack *Tear* Mark was one of my fav. i loved his voice!!! Now let me remember......Joan??? i think thats how you spell her name??? not sure, but anyway. She was my fav!!! Now that was a voice!!! She was the best, is the best and will always be the best person for that part!!! (The movie, not on stage.....wait did she play Joan on stage???) i haven't seen RENT on stage *double tear!!!* but hey who's crying, not me *cough*
Thanks for Drawing a picture of Mark!

Hahaha, I have my friend's copy that she left at my house about a month ago! I watched it about 3-4 times a day for the first two weeks, and after that had to limit it to about 3 times a week because of projects, essays, and homework. My other friend basically told me he was going to buy me it for Christmas. ^^ And Anthony Rapp has a book out ya know! It's called "Without You" and it's about his life and how he landed the role of Mark. Mark is by far my favorite character.
Joanne was amazing. Her voice is gorgeous. I love that the entire cast sounds so good together. Often musicals have many talented singers, but the voices clash. Luckily, this wasn't the case for Rent. They sound brilliant together. The only main people not in the actual Broad Way version were Joanne (Tracie Thoms) and Mimi (Rosario Dawson). The rest of the cast was in the original stage production. I would give just about anything to see it on stage. (And maybe sneak back stage to convert Anthony Rapp...) ^^

lol, I wish I could say he's my own character, but he's dear Anthony Rapp dressed as Mark from Rent. Omg, if you haven't seen it, you should! It's so sad, so make sure you watch it with a box of tissue! XP I adore Mark way too much! I'm thinking of doing a few more pics of him in the near future! ^^

I meat a guy at the beginning of the schoo year named Mark, and everytime I saw him, I was like "Hey! It's Mark! the strait one!" because Mark was the only strait guy (besides Rodger) in that movie...and that's how I remembered the kid's name the rest of the year XD
Omg, funny you should say that! The actor, Anthony Rapp, is gay! Well... he "prefers" men, and it seems as though he'd settle for a woman... He is still with his partner, and they have three cats together, one of whom is named Sebastien, and they're hoping to adopt. It broke my heart to hear it. Mebbe I could sneak back stage and convert him? *Hopeful smile* XP
Mark is by far my favorite character in Rent, and he's getting purdy darn close to my other fandoms right now! I think I need to do a few more pics of him some time soon...

Hahaha, Angel is adorable, but I can't believe he killed a puppy! >< I love Mark so much... and I think it's because of A) his clear eyebrows and lashes, and B) because he's seriously a male, Jewish, blonde version of me. He's always the one watching and documenting, but never actually the one receiving the love. The deleted scenes choke me up every time. XP Honestly, I need a cute blonde boy. XP
On that topic, I've had 2 people in the last few days ask if the guy next to me in my display picture on msn is my boyfriend. That picture happens to be the pic of me with Vic Mignogna taken 2 years ago at AE 06. He is 45 years old and he voices 2 of my 3 favorite characters. I WISH he were my boyfriend. XP

Haha, thank you so much! I love Mark so much, and I think the character alone is adorable! I'm so glad you like this pic! ^^ It's rare for me to draw something without a proper reference, so getting positive feedback on work like this is really encouraging! Thank you so much! I'm so glad people seem to like it so far! I think there are things I could have done differently, but it's all part of the creative process. XP Thanks again for the support! ^^
